NorthRow Named as a Certified IDSP Under New DCMS Framework
NorthRow is pleased to announce it has received certification under the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) UK Digital Identity and Attributes Trust Framework. The business is now approved as an IDSP (Identity Service Provider) for right to work checks.
Following the government ending the temporary measures brought in during Covid, which allowed employers to conduct right to work checks remotely, employers must now check right to work in one of three ways:
- an online Home Office check
- a manual check
- using an identity service provider (IDSP) that offers Identity Document Validation Technology (IDVT).
Employers can now work with NorthRow, as one of only a handful of certified IDSPs. They can use its Identity Document Validation Technology (IDVT) platform, to carry out digital identity checks on behalf of British and Irish citizens who hold a valid passport (including Irish passport cards).
NorthRow launched its Working Status App in 2017 and works with clients across a range of sectors. Customers include one of the top four UK supermarkets, national estate and rental agencies, as well as leading hospitality chains.
“This announcement validates the exceptional work our team has delivered to place NorthRow in a very small group of certified IDSPs”, says Adam Holden, CEO of NorthRow.
NorthRow’s product team is led by Anton Zdziebczok, a leader in the product development field for identity and fraud solutions. Anton’s team has worked hard to ensure that NorthRow delivers the very best in IDVT digital solutions in a user-friendly format. In reference to the announcement, Anton said, “We are very pleased to have met the rigorous criteria set by the DCMS. We care deeply about ensuring our customers can deliver automated Right to Work solutions that not only ensure compliance, but also mean the business can deliver digital transformation in a sustainable way.”
The DCMS framework is a set of rules that organisations agree to follow to conduct secure, trustworthy identity or attribute checks. NorthRow has received approval from the Home Office that its identification document validation technology (IDVT) is able to provide verification of a person’s identity to a level of confidence, which is the minimum requirement of identity assurance recommended for employers engaging an IDSP for right to work checks.
